Land of the Dragons, New Beginning

The popularity of the Land of the Dragons meant that in 2004 Myth and Magic launched a new collection of Dragons called the New Beginning.

The New Dragons

More ferocious and fierce that the other dragons already found in this mystic land, the Dragons of the New Beginning are the most spectacular to date.

The New Beginning

As time passed in the Land of the Dragons as in all worlds , species died out as others became stronger, and great battles were fought as each vied for supremacy.

The Ultimate battle pits Sapphire , whose power of wisdom is paramount, against Lava the elemental dragon who draws his strength from the very core of the earth. The victor will lead a united Land of the Dragons and we shall see the evolution of a new, stronger order.

The Tale of Carhampton

The villagers of Carhampton in Somerset were being terrorised by a flying dragon and it is said that Carantoc, a celtic saint, dragged the beast from the marsh and brought it before King Arthur in Caer Llion. After a time the dragon was released and departed, having been ordered never again to molest the human inhabitants of the neighbourhood. St Carantoc was granted land by the King and built a chapel by the river of Carhampton.

Celtic Legends

According to legend, the Celtic God of Health and Healing buried two fighting dragons at Dinas Emrys. Centuries later the High - King Vortigern fled here to escape the saxon hordes, choosing this place to build his fortress. However, his new towers constantly collapsed and Vortigern sought the advice of the young Myrddin Emrys, better known today as Merlin, who told of a white dragon and a red dragon within the hillside beneath a pool. The dragons were disinterred and immediately began fighting. Eventually the red beast prevailed and Merlin explained that the red dragon represented the Britons and the white dragon the Saxons, meaning that the Britons would become victorious over the Saxons. This indeed came to pass through Uther pendragon and then Arthur himself. The Red Dragon or Ddraig Goch became the symbol of the Welsh appearing as a sign of strength and integrity on the Welsh Flag, the only flag to be unaltered for the beginning of two Millennium. The ruins of Vortigern's fort can still be seen today.
